Not much Verge can do at this point. He made his offer, by all accounts it was a lucrative one, and hopefully he had a firm deadline in place before his offer goes to someone else.

Who would Saban hire? This coaching cycle is weak at best with candidates. Saban knows Lane is the best of the bunch.

Saban would understand the end game. I believe Verge does, too. Kiffin is coming but wants to coach his current team a little more. How much more is open to debate. With Alabama comfortably ahead at the moment, it appears Ole Miss’ next game would be a home playoff game.

We have no leverage people! We are all in on Lane, no matter what. We can give him a deadline, but if he says no, who do we pivot to? Everyone we wanted is off the board.
