I would predict:
1. LSU
2. Ole Miss
3. Arkansas
4. Alabama
5. MSU
6. Auburn
Reasons:
LSU
LSU's new coaches add a spark to a talented defense. The QB play will be better and we will actually have a qb to run the option that Crowton refuses to give up on even if we don't have an option qb. We get UF here this year, but have to play Bama and UGA on the road. I think we can take all three games though.
Ole Miss
Nutt has still got some talent and Snead will likely be the best throwing qb in the SEC this year. Defense will be good, but after this year, look for Ole Miss to become ArKansas v2.0. Their East opponents are also USCe, Vandy and UT.
ArKansas
I think Arkansas blows up on offense this year and everyone will just have to outscore them. However, they play UGA and Florida this year. I think they beat UGA imho.
Bama
Talk about an easy schedule. Va Tech and LSU are the only hard games and they are both @ birmingham. The also get USCe and UT at home as well. QB play and offensive line play will be the issue with them this year IMO.
Moo State
Good recruiting class and some decent talent with a new coach. I don't think they have the players to run the system Mullins wants, but it will be interesting to see what Moo State looks like this year. Will also be interesting to see if Mullins trys something to stop Florida. Too bad we play UF two weeks before Moo State does.
AU
Not a ton of talent, and nobody was really happy with Chizik's hire. They are @ UGA and UT. Sad time to be in Auburn... However I don't know how happy you could be there. There really isn't much in Auburn.

FYI, Bama doesn't play in B'ham.
I do agree with your analysis though. Bama will have a new QB, and the we all saw what happened when their thin OL lost some key players. On the other hand, the D should be much better than '08.

I think that three teams are clearly at the top with Arkansas right behind and MSU and AU near the bottom.
But going into the preseason, Ole Miss has to be given the nod as preseason favorites. Doesn't mean I think they'll finish there but it does mean that they return most of their defense and have a proven quarterback returning. As much as I love the progress of JJ, you still have to give OM the nod over us IMO. Alabama's defense is going to be very good but they lose everything but Julio on offense.
Both teams have ridiculously easy SEC slates. I think LSU has the most weapons on offense, but the most questions on defense. The addition of an experienced DC in Chavis has me really excited, as well as his propensity to develop LB's, which I think has been the weakest part of our team for the last five years. LSU has easily the toughest schedule in the west.
All three are capable. Preseason wise, you have to give the nod to Ole Miss though IMO.

I agree with you Lucky, 'Bama's defense keeps them in upper end, right now I see Ole Miss as the best in the bunch.

There are potentially 3 legit top-10 teams in the West in LSU, Bama, and Ole Miss.

1. LSU - key here is defense. If the new D-coordinator can give us a top 3 SEC defense (and I think they will). Then LSU wins the west. Really all they need to do is improve the secondary and decrease offensive turnovers. Otherwise it will be Ole Miss who returns a lot of key starters.
2. Miss
3. Bama - QB growing pains are likely
4. Arky - they should start to turn around
5. AU - wow. what a difference a year makes
6. Moo
Whoever wins the west will probably get a beat down from UF in the SEC championship.

potentially, LSU could win the MNC 10 times in a row. But I don't see it happening.
