Happy thanksgiving gents.

This feels like an eternity since this coaching search started. It genuinely feels like 2 years ago is when we fired him.

I’ll start with BKs buyout-

Was told they wanted this to be wrapped up before hiring a new coach. With the nature of the timeline of a lawsuit and the “let’s keep our names out of the media with this shite” is what drove the decision to pay BK in full. I know for fact we had a few guys that were ready and willing to pay this out.

Overall I think this is a good decision on LSUs part.

For those that do not know Kelly has to actively seek further employment and LSU can challenge the payments if Kelly doesn’t find another job.

In short he’s not getting the 50 million. LSU wanted to just get this the hell off their plate before the news coming this weekend *insert smirk emoji* (I’m on the phone lol)

And now for the coaching search where we should only be talking about one name. Lane Kiffin

There’s been points of this week where I legitimately thought this was going to break in the media. For those that pay attention to wording… zenitz, dellenger, marcello all “softly” reported it. Zenitz with the if/when coach O report, dellenger only reporting on the lsu offer and how Florida is actively seeking other candidates, marcello same thing.

From what I am told this was verbally agreed to last week by Lane Kiffin. I am told the deal is going to be around 7 years/95 million.

The incentives on this contract are going to be groundbreaking and the beginning of a new era of coaching contracts when they are released. Im excited for yall to see I wish I could expand on it but it’s really cool.

I’ve been saying it for a couple of weeks now but DEFINITIVELY saying it again to remind you. Lane Kiffin will be and is LSUs next head coach.

The staff discussions and meetings will begin when he arrives in Baton Rouge on Sunday. (Press conference will be Monday)

I am told-

Frank and Corey Raymond will likely be sticking around

Baker *pending the Tulane job* would likely stay (I’ve gotten a couple different opinions about this but the source who told me he’d stay I trust more than the one who said we likely look elsewhere)

Pete Golding will not be coming to LSU. I am told he will stay at Ole Miss and likely be the head coach for their playoff run.

Coach O stuff is real. Lane and Coach O are good pals. I am currently expecting O to land on the staff. Though unsure of role.

Other than these names, I haven’t heard much of anyone else sticking around. There will be a lot of meat cut off the bone when Kiffin gets into town.

The next week is going to be absolutely wild for us tigers fans. We are going to be announcing Lane, then right into signing day on Wednesday, and then into staff meetings and hires for the rest of the week.

From there you will go into bowl game prep. And here’s an interesting nugget I have about that. Lane would want to coach it.

Then…. The portal opens Jan 2-16. This will be absolutely wild for LSU. I fully expect us to be the biggest player in this years portal.
