“Let’s get a cheap safe hire”

Should have stopped after Western Kentucky game.
If you get an opportunity to get Lane Kiffin, you have to land him. The guy who elevated Blake Sims to All-SEC, Won 11 games at FAU 2/3 seasons there (terrible program too), and has Ole Miss top 7 3/5 years.
Lane’s offense and creativity coupled with LSU’s ability to field consistent homegrown defenses will feed families for years. Tiger Stadium will be roaring. The brand will explode, and lots of ROI will be happening for the money guys.
Lane is the smart, safe, and best hire we can make. I’m proud of Verge and the way he has handled this search.

Should have hired him last time but can't go back in time and had different people here before. Verge sounds like he knows what LSU's expectations should be and will hold the people he hires accountable

No, but a link to Verge or LSU officials stating that they've reached out to Lane's agent and have made an official offer. I don't care to read his contract.

The absence of proof creates doubt... so yes.
This will run a similar path that lead to EdO being hired. They may not hire Frank, but they will hire someone that they'll claim was on the top of their "list".

Lane Kiffin is a lot of things but “safe” in so many ways is not one of them.

I see that you don’t understand how this game is worked.
I don’t know, you don’t know, only a few people really know.
We may never know. The last 2 coaching searches the fans thought we were getting one coach and we ended up with another one. Was it a smokescreen or a rejection? We really don’t know

Actually I do know. It's called deception, it's called secretive... it's called whatever you want to call it.
Bk may have actually been the HC'ng target all along but when LSU hired Ed, they were just out of options because they fricked up with their first 2 candidates.
