Marshall Faulk is the NEW Southern Head Coach

I loved watching him run the ball. He was a beast.

I wish him and the Jags all the best

I RA'd for them to move this to the Coaching Changes board.

And good for Marshall

He might have come to LSU but if I recall correctly whoever the coach was at the time wanted him to play DB

He should hire Kevin Faulk and trev Faulk on his staff

Most of the big schools wanted him as DB
LSU was so bad at the time he definitely ended up where he was supposed to be

True, it was Curly Hallman. While he was a idiot, in this case almost everyone was recruiting him as a DB. San Diego State was one of the few schools to offer him as a RB.

Every program that offered, except for San Diego State, wanted him to play DB.

What does that say about recruiting at the time? 2nd overall pick in NFL draft, HOF’r and best show on turf.

Payton Manneng gushes about him.

He was a freak athlete and played both ways. From what I gather, he was probably a better DB than RB in high school

At Carver
Rushing yards: 1,800 (in his final two seasons)
Touchdowns: 32 (in his final two seasons)

Defensive stats (senior year): 11 interceptions and 6 defensive touchdowns

His rushing stats were good, his DB stats were insane.
