Ok, not the stiffest competition. In fact the games were so lowly rated they weren't even on ESPN+
But we'll take the win! Geaux Cowboys!
vs George Washington W 92-86
vs Murray State W 73-60
vs Middle Tennessee W 72-62

GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman – Javohn Garcia scored a career-high matching 26 points, 20 of those in the second half, as McNeese overcame an early 11-point deficit to beat Middle Tennessee 72-62 here Tuesday to capture the Cayman Islands Classic championship after going 3-0 in three days.
It's the first-ever in-season tournament championship for the McNeese basketball program.

Still solid wins on a neutral court. Last night was the most impressive win because they looked tired and trailed basically the entire game. I think they have a chance at being a 10/11 seed in the tourney and really causing damage. This is by far the best team McNeese has had since 2023.

Man. That's really going back a ways

Yeah, that probably a bit too optimistic. Wade's teams played better schedules and the best they were able to get is a 12 seed. One bid leagues don't generally get 10-11 seeds. Drake was 30-3 last year with multiple wins over power conf. teams. They were an 11 seed.
McNeese would have sweep the entire non-conference schedule, including wining at Michigan, and lose only 2-3 games (at most) in conf. play to be considered for an 11 seed. Their more likely ceiling, if really good, would be a 13 seed.

Pump the brakes. They are not even the best team in the Southland.

This McNeese team is better than last year's team. They will dominate the improved Southland again.

The Cayman Islands tourism board must be celebrating the 10s of dollars they made on this tournament.
