Can we get a thread going in honor of the best Thanksgiving movie?

IMO not only the best Thanksgiving movie, but one of the best comedies of all time.

“You’re going the wrong way”
“Oh, he’s drunk. How the hell would he know where we’re going?”

I finally sat down and watched this one a couple days ago. Loved it. It's funny how Candy is also playing the role of getting a parent home (through whatever means necessary) to see family for a holiday in Home Alone.

I watched it for the first time about a month ago as well. It was good; I liked it. I didn't "love" it, but I suspect that's on me for waiting so long to have seen it. I feel like if I had watched it 35 years ago I would've loved it.

But I watched it after watching the I Like Me doc on John Candy. It made me want to watch some of his movies I had either never seen or hadn't seen in a while (Great Outdoors, Summer Rental, Uncle Buck, PT&A).

I do wish you'd seen it earlier, the more the years go the more I love it. I do think one day, it'll be held in the same regard as It's a Wonderful Life

The balance between funny and poignant that it maintains, I struggle to remember a movie thats made me laugh as much as it did but still choked me up. I think it's perfect and encapsulates the holiday spirit

Police officer: “What the hell are you driving here?”

Del: “We had a small fire last night, but we caught it in the nick of time!”

Police officer: “Do you have any idea how fast you were going?”

Del: “Funny enough, I was just talking to my friend about that. Our speedometer is melted, and as a result, it’s very hard to say with any degree of accuracy exactly how fast we were going.”

Just watched last night. I’ve got to watch it every year around this time. It’s fantastic.

I watched John Candy: I Like Me documentary on Prime last night. I really enjoyed it. John Candy is one of my favorite celebrities of all time.

One of the greatest comedies of all time with one of the most heartfelt endings to a comedy in all time.

**Spoilers in the clip**

Definitely one of the first heart wrenching scenes I saw as a kid.
