If Kiffin leaves Ole Miss why are you going to be pissed at him?

Are every single one of you m’fers loyal to your job?

If another company came along that was a better company and made you one of the highest paid people in your position, you’re telling me you’d stay at your present company out of loyalty??

fricking grow up.

Remind of being in a plane the day Saban went to AL. Never forget that Rick hot looking AL trophy woman proudly yelling at me that “We got Nick”

Let me put it into context for you with a hypothetical. What if in 2003, before the SEC title game, Alabama came in and hired Nick Saban away? Would you have been pissed? Of course you would be. Now what if Kiffin comes to LSU and wins a title or 2? Ole Miss fans will hate him and LSU forever and they’d have every right to.

Close your eyes and imagine this OP:

Your team is ranked #6 Thanksgiving week in a year that you came into the season thinking was more of a rebuild. You are on the precipice of the college football playoff. Vibes are good and money flowing in. You are about to win your 50th game in five years.

Instead of celebrating a team and program your coach decides to:

Complain the stadium was half full for a FCS game instead of praising your team

Publicly send his brood to Alabama and Ole Miss to look at houses and schools

Speak to the governor of Alabama and Miss about jobs and have it go public

Post a “Kiffin 2026” hat on social media prior to a big game to insinuate you are staying, when all signs point to you leaving, essentially trolling your own fans

Leak out meeting details and favorable reports of how well schools are recruiting you to national media (Chris Low), to shape public opinion on why you are abandoning a playoff team

Sow discord and tumult inside the football building prior to the final game of season because nobody knows what he intends to do

Would you be pissed if this happened to LSU?

It’s not that he’s leaving. It’s the circumstances around it. The trolling. The disrespect. The team having a special season that he has clearly been inconvenienced by.

If Jay Johnson called a press conference tomorrow and said he was leaving for Texas let’s not pretend 97% of LSU fans would lose their minds.

That would have been a lateral move at best. Apples to oranges. If he left for the NFL would be different.

Money isn't the sticking point here. LSU and Ole Miss' offers are within a couple hundred grand and if that was the issue, Ole Miss would simply offer more.

Even though you asked in bad faith and appear completely ignorant of the situation, I won't be mad at Lane. I'm not sure what he's looking for though. He has the highest paid coordinators in the SEC as well as the highest support staff pool. The NIL coffers are among the deepest in college football and we have never been outbid for a player. Ole Miss didn't miss the playoff last year because of talent, but because of coaching. Had the 12 team playoff started in 2021, Ole Miss would have been in the playoffs 3 of the last 5 years and had a 4th run deep into November. (This assumes we win the egg bowl) So you can't say you "can't get it done" at Ole Miss because it is literally getting done.

Despite talking about how "it's a new era" of college football, it appears part of Lane still longs to be at what is considered to be a classic blue blood. While Ole Miss is the 4th winningest team of the NIL era behind OSU, Bama, and UGA, we do not have classic blue blood history.

That is completely absurd.

Bottom line, I’m willing to bet Lane would want to stay at Ole Miss to finish the playoffs and then leave for the BETTER job afterwards. If he doesn’t stay to coach in the playoffs it will be because Ole Miss will kick him out.

He’s not doing anything wrong.
