The Kiffin situation IS NOT the Herman to TX situation

“Herman will become next LSU coach” on ESPN roller keeps getting thrown out over and over by people doubting Kiffin to LSU.

This isn’t the same situation, nor is it the same day & age. Think critically.

Herman was a “Texas” guy. He cut his teeth in TX, then the University of Texas job opens up which nationally is considered equal to LSU or better. Ordering was already on staff and interim at LSU, and LSU had to act.

This situation is completely different. LSU is by far the best job available, Kiffin has loyalties to the state of MS, maybe some to FL but that’s just a different place. Nobody is “from” Florida. People he most likely trusts professionally and most likely listens to are telling him to go to LSU. Our $$ terms are solid, Frank Wilson is already here, and he knows what he’ll be able to do at LSU. These same correlations weren’t in place with LSU or Herman at the time.
