When does Fender run out of new names for their latest lines?

I see their newest is Ultra-Luxe Vintage.
I go in a shop looking at used Telecasters. I say to the kid "let me see that sunburst one"
He says " it's the super deluxe crown model! (I made this name up, I don't remember what they say)".
I have to ask, "what does that even mean?"

I’m holding out for the Original American Elite Ultra Vintage Lux Deluxe Plus II model.
Gonna be sweet.
And you’ll be able to get it in Black, Snowy Frosty Icy Bleach White, Sunburst, and Lake Placid Blue.
It’s fun making fun of Fender, but I will say My American Ultra Jazz is my favorite bass ever.
And let’s not let Ernie Ball off the hook either. Who knows what the hell you’re getting from them. Their naming conventions are about as stupid as you can get.
I promise you, they have a Sterling Sterling bass. It would be like Fender naming their cheap brand Mustang or Gibson naming theirs SG.

Yeah, I think that series was made around 2010ish?
If I'm right, that's also one of my most desired Telecaster models. I fell in love with one that was beyond my means double bound faded cherry burst. I'm gonna have one soon.
ETA: That may have been an American Elite model though now that I think of it, but both models would be almost identical.

They started the Ultras in 2019-2020. Now they have the Ultra II. The Elite was the series before that and I think it was Deluxe before that. Maybe.
The Vintage remakes I think went from American Vintage Reissue to American Original to American Vintage II.
Then there are even tons of series below the top ones. Performers, Professionals, Vinteras, Plus, Deluxe, Vintage Vibe, Affinity, on and on.

It makes my head hurt.

Don’t even get started on the colors over the years. For a company that mostly gives you black, white, and sunburst, they have had millions of different colors.
Oh, you like the Dakota Red, well, we put metallic flakes in it and now it’s Mystic Dakota Red. But don’t ask where you can by one. It was a limited FSR run sold in Sri Lanka in 2007 only.

Fender's entire schtick is rebranding existing lines and selling it back to people who lap it up. I own 4 myself.

Here is my strategy on buying Fender stuff, find a good used MIM version that plays and has a neck that you like. Then slap the pick, ups that give you the tone you want whether Fralins, Lollars, SD, Fender in it,

Pretty much what I do, even Squiers if they play nice and feel pretty solid.
That American Elite? cherryburst felt, played and sounded like it was made for me.
I came across another 1 just like it a couple months ago, used, it seemed like the same guitar, but at a shop 200 miles away.
Again, it was bad timing and money was tight. That guitar sold in 2 days.

I'm a Fender guy myself, but calling a new product "vintage" is stupid
And buying distressed or worn new guitars is the stolen valor of music.

You know, it just occurred to me that many of the Fender model names could also be toilet paper names.

"Burst" would be a great toilet paper name.

Vintage toilet paper was pretty rough.

What else are we going to do? ;)

Judging by a couple of your posts(you don't post much), I guess you work at Fender.
That's cool as anything.
I'm a damn fan.

Don't think its a big deal as long as it is out front what it is with a name like Vintage Reissue, where it is a new guitar just based on an old model. I get people wanting these because they want certain configurations and components that are available these days.

This, yes! If my instrument is going to look distressed or worn, it is going to be because I made it that way. That is why I don't stress if my bass gets a nick somewhere at a gig. It's just getting its mojo.
