Forget about the "insiders," but if you think about it, this all sounds really logical:

1. He's looking to win. If it's between OM, Florida, and LSU, it's LSU by a mile. Total instate talent and a fantastic NIL deal. I'm sure he loves the thought of that.

2. LSU with a great offense scares the shite out of the rest of college football. They know what can happen. Lane is going to get that on a consistent basis. On GameDay, it's obvious why they don't want Lane to come here. We'd be contenders every year.

3. Saban has got to be involved in some way. I have no sources, but his comments on GameDay tell me he told Lane that it'd be a good career move to go to LSU. Plus, Saban might love the idea of being the guy who gave coach rehab to the coach who would reinvigorate the program. Saban built a legacy here and getting Lane here would be the icing on the cake.

4. It's also getting the band back together if Orgeron and Coach Frank are on staff.

5. It's such a fit. LSU is loud, boisterous, and our fans talk trash win or lose. What better than to have the troll in chief as your HC?

I've been wrong before, but this feels different. I think we got our guy.

We were due for a big hire here sooner or later. There’s always been something to hold us back from being consistently great. Whether it was tough season openers, a tough schedule in the west, bonehead coaching decisions, playing Florida and Alabama every year, and Saban! Guess what, all of that is about to change. We will still have a tough schedule, no doubt, but I really do feel like the golden age of LSU football is about to truly begin if we can keep Lane here long-term.

LK will be the first HC (since Saban) that would be a coveted HC at other programs

Fact

When you’re AT a Top 5 job, that becomes a moot point for yearly “will he leave” worries.

NFL? Maybe but he’s been there already too

That's all your opinion. Don't mean squat. Kiffin is a big troll. Only cares bout himself. No one knows nothing until he tells us

Lane's got a kid who's about to start getting NIL deals as well. Who better than LSU to handle that. The LSU brand is everywhere in every sport, on the field, on tv and in commercials. Ask any person to name 10 athletes that went to LSU they could do it in 20 seconds. Now do the same for Florida and Ole Miss and they probably couldn't do it

Why would they not one of the biggest brands in college sports to be contenders every year ?

I think a lot of people are also overlooking Austin Thomas being our GM and came from Ole Miss as well
