Is the number of commentators saying LSU is the most desired college coaching job in the nation. I mean, I like the sound of that. I am definitely a homer, but I didn't know it would beat out Alabama, Texas, USC. Even the commentators that didn't agree had LSU in the top two or three. They note the monopoly on the state's talent pool, money, Saturday night in BR, jeffsdad's a fan, and historic success.

It wouldn’t. Maybe USC right now. Maybe.

3 different coaches won titles here. And two of those were goobers, and one of those two really wasn’t head coach material. The resources are here and the recruits are here. Don’t have to compete with another in-state school. Saban saw it and that’s why he came

Best job open

I would say texas is better, ohio st due to advantages, maybe bama but how much common bama fan could you stand

That may be a tad overstating it but without a doubt it’s the top job available. Outside of the odd homer article here or there from other fan bases every one I’ve seen has listed us #1

If they meant top job overall in the country I’m shocked national pundits would give us that kind of clout over B1G schools. Seems it’s a good bit easier to win in that conference

All before NIL. Paying players has changed the game and removed the significance of being the only game in town. Now, it’s all about the $. Players will go anywhere for a year or two to make more money.

It’s not as easy here as it was when those coaches won titles.

They mean that it’s the best job open currently.

Since NIL happened what percentage of the top 10 recruits in LA have gone to LSU? We still clean up in state for the most part.

Les wasn't a goober. If Saban doesn't go to Bama, Les has at least 2 more natties.

It’s definitely a top 5-8 job, but not better than Texas or Bama. It might be better than USC though.

They do mean the best job open currently. But most people talking about it consider Texas, Ohio State and LSU to be the best college football jobs to have out of all of them. The ability to maintain elite level recruiting if all you manage to do is keep the in-state kids is a HUGE advantage LSU has without any in-state threats for top talent.

They meant the top one of the open jobs, I suspect.

There are probably 5 or 6 schools that are very close together, all having pluses and minuses, I'm sure. I'd list them as these in alphabetical order, I'm sure many folks will disagree

Alabama
LSU
Ohio State
Oregon
Texas
USC

I mean two imbeciles won national championship. So yes, it’s a top job. You have no competition in state to have to recruit against and the best facilities.

No way USC is in there with that apathetic fan base.
