Do yall really think Kiffin has the ability to be consistent?

Nothing he has ever done in his personal life nor his coaching life shows he can be stable and consistent
The personal stuff and coaching changes is well known, but even his coaching is a roller coaster. Great moments followed by head scratching decisions and bad losses. That is who he is to his core. It’s not going to change.
You may get a flash in the pan success at LSU, but he IMHO has zero potential to be Smart/Day/Lanning/Dabo etc. It won’t happen.
And it’s painfully obvious with everything he has ever done. People thinking Kiffin is the guy to make lsu on the level of UGA/Ohio state etc are lying to themselves

Kelly wasn’t a fit for either party at LSU. The firing was nescesary.

BK never won 10 regular season games at LSU, always needed the bowl game for that 10th win.
Lane has won 10 regular season games 3 times in the last 5 years at Ole Miss with far less talent.

He's been sober for 3 1/2 years.
6 10-win seasons in his last 9, including this season. 4 of those at Ole Miss.
Give him Dabo's schedule, and I believe he would be every bit as successful.
We don't know what he can do with LSU's resources; the guys other than Dabo that you mentioned, while they are unquestionably great coaches, have resources in spades where they are.
My main concern with Lane is his occasional boneheaded decision to take risks when he could be more conservative and wrap the game up easily.

It’s not that I disagree, but as far as a realistic “splash” goes, he’s basically the only option
I think we should be mining the country for the next up and comer, but I personally don’t know enough to know who that would be
The optics of firing Kelly like this and hiring an unknown might not be the best look, so they’re swinging big
