Think about well....literally any noteworthy hire you've seen. Its not just crickets and the out of nowhere the school announces it. Somebody relevant, who's not a tigerdroppings poster, gets a scoop.

Big Difference, they were negotiating with a Coach who is out of a job, have to be a little more nuanced with a Coach who is still coaching.... in your conference.

We are not yet at the point in anything where leaks might happen that reporters can use.
Reporters aren’t message board yahoos. They don’t have to report there sources…but they are accountable to bosses about them. It’s a different standard.
All the things you mentioned were guys that were finished with there seasons for the most part and weren’t headed to the playoff.
Brian Kelly is the only one who I think had stuff to play for…and that leaks the day before he was hired and everyone knew by then.
Either way those were all things that were settled.
If any of this news is real than we are still at the decision stage and Kiffin has to decide to leave playoff team for a future job. That could change by the minute.
There is nothing to report until he tells OM he is staying and signs an extension or tells them he’s not.

Like stop and think for a second on what a major coaching search is, how few people are actually in the circle of knowledge, how they likely have like HARDCORE ndas, then if they did leak something where some idiot like Phillytiger picked it up, what do they think would happen? You think that wouldn't be traced back to them? Like you think they would KEEP feeding them info if they knew they would only immediately make it public?
