always loses a game or 2 they shouldn't (this yr would be the first if they close it out), easily distracted, doesn't value defense, basketball hoop on sidelines (which injured his best WR), lost to Beta Brian twice as the favored team is the best LSU can do...for that money?

If he looked like Drink he would be hated here and I doubt Kiffin writes his own tweets.

That guy better pray LSU offers him so he actually has a shot to win a ship..he won't do it otherwise.

JMO - plenty of motivated coaches would win big a LSU

Objectively, compare below the yellow line to above it. Nobody else has been able to sustain success at Ole Miss this century.

Do you guys bother going any fricking research? Ole miss finished second in team defense last year, they’re currently in the 20s. I know Bama fans didn’t love him and he was on the way out likely but he didn’t hire Golding from being the Bama defensive coordinator because he doesn’t value defense.

Les Miles
Ed Orgeron ...already have.

so who "could" win?

Kiffin
Dillingham
Drink
Franklin
several other B10 coaches I could name but ill just say that plenty of 'motivated' coaches would win big at LSU.

I realize most here just play on SM and don't know ball, but LA produces an abnormal amount of HOF NFL athletes ... talent wins out and most understand any motivated coach would win big here.

Its WHY a guy at ole mrs is even considering not coaching his playoff run (which he finally made) ...Louisiana is different and he knows it.

LSU fans undervalue the program and get into a mindset of only 'X' coach can do it. LSU needs someone focused on the prize vs the cash.

Kiff is fine, but has held a lot of jobs but never won anything of significance. Id argue the turnaround at Missouri is more impressive than Mrs's. He certainly isn't worth the trouble from what I've seen in his performances over the years.

Sure Drink is a nerd but he’s not very good against top 25 teams either.

Overall record: 7-16 against AP Top 25 teams
Recent record: 0-6 against ranked SEC opponents in the last two seasons.

This guy would not be a good hire for LSU.

8 of the 12 coaches made their 1st CFP appearance last season.

Fair on his records at Ole Mrs, very good coach of course

his best team on paper last yr lost to LSU, KY, Florida. As favorites.

Comb through those records - similar to what we've seen recently, beat the mid to lower SEC team (plus zero OOC teams of significance like LSU plays)- whey they play top 3rd of SEC and they are losses. huge losses to GA and bama like clockwork. MiZZ and Drank are at least competitive when them at times.

Hes a solid choice, but best available and worth taking coach who quits on his playoff run (again) is absurd.

It’s a crap shoot. Antics/peculiarity/press conferences/attire- we don’t really care if you win.

You’re right. We should only consider coaches who have been to the playoffs, like Brian Kelly

show me a coach who has never lost a game they shouldn't.

eta: and i'm not advocating for LK. but that argument is just a talking point by anyone who is against said coach.

It's hard to beat blue bloods at Ole Miss, but he beat Georgia last year and LSU and Oklahoma this year. Bama hasn't been on their schedule this year or last.

There are other good options for sure, but there's a valid reason why Lane is at the top of LSU and Florida's list.

Well....How many titles had Nick Saban won before LSU? Or Les Miles? Or Coach O?

An offensive innovator like Lane Kiffin could do amazing things here.

MRS is 2-5 in overall vs ranked SEC teams (beat GA and LSU which I forgot last year ole mrs crushed GA and still missed playoffs).

They don't seem to play many ranked games. Drink has had GA on the ropes a couple times, but fair to say he hasn't finished them vs ranked sec.
