4. I mean 2006 Final 4 run with Big Baby and Tyrus Thomas was pretty damn special and qualifies

Final Four in 1986 and "final 6" (Dale Brown's words, not mine) in 1987 were truly something special. In both seasons it was quite doubtful we even make the tourney, much less make a meaningful run

Final Four in 1986
I will go to my grave knowing that the absence of Nikita Wilson the second half of that season cost us a national championship. He would have eaten Purvis Ellison’s lunch.

What? Let’s get some specifics
1. 03 national championship year, defense was amazing a collection of my most favorite lsu players of all time all on the same team, Malik, Vincent, addai, Clayton, Henderson, green, bowe, wilkerson, whitworth, the greatest dline of all time at lsu, spears, williams, hill, lavalais, my favorite two cbs of all time Webster and daniels, then probably our two greatest safety duo in Laron Landry and steltz. Man what a season that team has 1/2 of my favorite players on it I bet.
2. 2011 football season I think the greatest team lsu ever had and they blew it with a antique offense. I think with modern play calling and coaching on offense they could have beat any team ever to include 2019 if the defensive players were still allowed to play defense like football is and was supposed to be played.
3. 2006 lsu final four run year big baby and tasmin plus temple straight dominating defense. Man I loved that team should have won it all that year, beating duke just got cold and defense still played lights out to the very end.
4. 2001 Saban second year beating Tennessee and Travis Daniels becoming a legend in my eyes and then dominating Illinois I seriously believe even to this day that we would have beat any team in the country by end of season (wish there was a playoff back then.
5. Lsu basketball from 2018-2022 the real bad boys of college basketball man did we frick up bad. Can’t ever forgive what lsu did to that coach. We had him, and let him go. What an exciting time to see a young arse coach just flip the script on everyone and win despite the refs despite the bad publicity despite it all… ahahahaha!!! Kept winning!! NCAA tournament for FOUR straight years!!! And the best team I thought was the fricking covid team could beat anyone!!
Cant leave off these seasons
6A. 2007 lsu football national championship chaos, what an exciting year and more of my favorite just dominant defense and all around crazy year.
6B. 2019 lsu football year, the single greatest offense of all time. Holy cow. Cant believe I witnessed that. But football style changed by that time and got kinda soft and lack of defense I loved every minute of it and would rank them the best team of all time if I were ranking out of every season of every team in college. I don’t believe anyone could beat that team based on offense alone. Insane talent.
6C. 1999-2000 lsu duo watching stomile and Jabari play and just dominate Jabari’s two dunks that year, beating Arizona losing to Wisconsin like we did sucked torris bright… wow what a team. Should have made it to final four but just complete collapse that last game..
Man i literally lived in the golden age of football and basketball for lsu

Wow no baseball at all

Im new to baseball, pretty much started watching avidly when we got Johnson. I listened to the championship comeback in 96 in my parents mini van at a rodeo or horse sho. I threw a fit bc I wanted to listen to the game so my parents gave me the keys to the van and I listened to it in the blistering heat, by the end of the game I had 30 or so ppl at the van all listening to the game hooting and hollering lol was 9years old. What I saw of Skenes and our pitching staff coming out of losers bracket was i gotta say the best baseball team I ever seen in my limited experience. I’m not a baseball guy at all but tre Morgan play at home plate was the single greatest olay I ever seen in baseball and he is my favorite baseball player ever to wear purple and gold at this time

1. Curly Hallman last year. Was the beginning of the end of losing seasons.
2.1979- Unranked LSU beat #2 USC on the field even though the score said otherwise and lost to #1 Alabama 3-0 at home . And fans stayed the entire game and cheered win or lose for the Tigers. Loved those days when LSU didn't have the national talent yet still played hard and played with nationally ranked teams teams they had no reason competing with.
3. 1986 Final Four run with a 6'7" forward playing center. Highest seeded team to ever get to Final 4 at that time.
4.1991 - the first of many and gave us hope that we could be a player in the collegiate baseball scene.

I loved 2019, of course, but 2001 and 2003 were fun.

'05-'06. Some of the Wade teams were fun too but that Final Four run was awesome.

Gotta add Men’s Basketball, 1980-81. Great team and first trip to the Final Four.

1978-1981 were the halcyon days of LSU basketball. They were the class of the SEC, and played great in all the fundamentals of the game. And they were really fun to watch!
