Haven't been to Nashville in probably 30 years, at least, but my nephew is getting married there at the end of March so we're flying over for a long weekend.

Any iconic places, restaurants, things to do I should look into?

FWIW, I hate country music.

Go to the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum; it’s all genres (not just country) with emphasis on the musicians instead of the stars. It also showcases the production side of the recording industry with studios, hands-on activities, and various displays. Well worth the visit if you have any interest in any types of recorded music.

Even if you hate country music, give the Hall of Fame a try. So many amazing artifacts. Also they just opened a new two year exhibit about the Muscle Shoals Sound with artifacts from Aretha Franklin, Duane Allman, and Wilson Pickett.

Cash Museum is excellent.

Parthenon and the museum below it in Centennial Park is nice.

The Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's home).

A ticket to the Country Hall of Fame includes a ticket to RCA Studio B. That is worth the bus ride if you are a music fan interested in being where history was made.

Not all musical acts at the legendary Ryman Auditorium are country.

Saw Jefferson Starship open for Marshall Tucker there. If you get the chance to see them-pass.

In my opinion, the only true must-do in Nashville is the Ryman. It is a special place but I guess it loses some of its mystique to you since you aren’t a country music fan. But I believe it to be the heart of Nashville in some ways.

The other place that I tell people to visit is Robert’s. A true honky tonk and one of my top 3 favorite bars in the world.

I am also a fan of Monell’s. A family style country cookin/soul food place where you will eat with strangers from a bowl of chicken and dumplings that probably holds 3 gallons of food. No one ever mentions it but I love it.

Yep. Jones closed down. There was a really good Glen Campbell one there too, but not sure if it exists either. The Cash and Patsy Cline ones were side by side.

The Opry also has a pretty neat little museum experience too with their Tour. Really neat to go stand on the stage and see all of the dressing rooms and such.

I know moving the Hall to where it is now helped revitalize that area of town (along with Bridgestone, restoring the Ryman, etc.) but one of the things I loved when the Hall was up by Music Square were all of the little storefront artist museums.

I think I first went to Nashville in '92 and remember walking through a Hank Jr. and a Randy Travis museum/store right there along Demonbreuin.
