Did I hear correctly...The “boot” trophy is solid 24 karat gold?

It’s bronze I believe or maybe it’s gold plated. I know it does not weigh 2000 pounds though lol

For years when they first started the trophy it sat in a corner of the old LSU hall of fame like they had no idea what to do with it.

I just tried google to see how much gold was used to make the trophy, most say 200# of 24k solid gold. I know this can’t be true but even if it only has 5lbs of gold plating it would have a value of 250k.
