Is LSU really that much worse than Texas?

I'll start by saying that LSU looks bad. Winning 7-9 games possibly this year is a bit of fool's gold, and it's on the backs of a lot of crappy opponents.

But why is Texas so highly regarded...when they've pretty much been arse except in 1-2 games this year? This is more of an argument that Texas should be a lot lower than they are.

LSU has lost 4 games - to the current (about the change) #3, #4, #7 and #14 teams. 3 of those were road games that LSU lost by an average of ~7 pts. In each of those road games at some point LSU had the ball within one score in the 4th quarter.

The TAMU game was decidedly ugly, but even in that game LSU led at halftime.

Texas has lost 3 games - to the current #1, #5 and an unranked Florida team. They've lost all three on the road by an average of ~13 points.

Is the win over Oklahoma really all that separates Texas, who will be ranked in the teens at 7-3, and LSU, who won't get any votes at 6-4?

No we are not. If we had a competent o line we would be 8-2, instead of 6-4. CBK should have seen this coming. We all saw it by week 3.

Arch is a good bit better than the 2025 version of Nuss.

Texas has a better record and a win against a soon to be top 10 team. LSU has a worse record and zero impressive wins. Texas also ranks better than LSU in total defense, total offense, scoring defense, and scoring defense.

It’s not like CBK doesn’t know what a good o-line looks like. The guy just truly didn’t give a shite.

They have better players on both sides of the ball

Their oline is just as bad as ours tho

They’d beat LSU soundly. Texas - 38 LSU - 13

absolutely … both

)Spoiled rich kids
)Dads/Uncles in NFL
)Neither of them seem to have gotten much from families football backgrounds
)Nuss does not work hard, Arch doesn’t
seem to either.
)both have the same “deer in headlights”
look when things get dicey.

Please add your observations

I think that would be a great bowl match up with big ratings for two teams with sub par seasons. Texas vs. LSU...Id definitely watch that over a bigger bowl between say Texas Tech vs. North Texas or Tulane in the college playoffs.
