Hopped back on to share some updates. I see some threads saying Lane has been offered.

That’s been out there for awhile, Already said it here, 11/2/25 and here, 11/7/25

As mentioned in that post on the 7th, Saban smoke was real for a bit. No longer the case unfortunately. Good conversations with LSU, just happy where he is.

Lane still has an offer on the table from LSU. I’ve been told close to 14 million. LSU selling him on having full control and unlimited NIL support.

Issues obviously are around timetable with Lane and Ole Miss playoffs bound. Nowadays you want to have a coach and staff to help recruit transfers and keep guys remaining on the roster. Frank Wilson has to hold the line.

Besides Lane, I have mentioned and you can see in those posts that Dillingham remains a strong candidate and a very attractive pick among some LSU higher ups.

Freeman as mentioned burned some bridges, will not be him. Although he and verge are close. Wont be accepted by big money boosters.

Saw some Drink noise, and I believe LSU would have to strike out on several candidates. Likely Drink trying to get himself a raise if anything.

Right now it’s a narrow list , but Lane is still the top priority.

If I had to give you a list, it would be
Lane, Dillingham, and Riley.

Yes, Lincoln Riley. Not sure how much legs it has, but he will be a wildcard name to look out for.

Lane, Dillingham, or Riley sounds reasonable.

I wouldn’t be surprised at any of them.

I’d be surprised at names like Lanning, Saban, etc.

Auburn is looking seriously at Dillingham supposedly as well. Will be interesting to see if they have that ability to pull him from his Alma mater

Well apparently Florida is offering Kiffin 15 million, so why would LSU think 14 million would be acceptable if they are trying to get their number one target? Makes little sense. It makes a lot of sense with all the smoke around him going to Florida right now if that number is true though.

I love how all these new insiders are hedging super hard so they can claim victory later

Lane to Florida.

LSU is extremely disorganized behind the scenes.

LSU will end up with a very mid hire IMO.

My biggest fear is LSU putting too many eggs in the Lane basket and be left holding the bag then.

Hopefully there are some solid backup plans but I have little faith in that.

Dillingham or Riley are not bad options imo

Mid hire for LSU would be like Alex Golesh who I would be fine with.

Drink would bear crawl to BR right now if offered.

That’s about as worse as this will get.

So if LSU strikes out 3-4 candidates. It will at worse be Drink. I wouldn’t say that’s mid, maybe a little disappointing if anything

I’d prefer Golesh or Morris over Drink personally.

Riley?! Why for the love of God? He hasn't done shite at USC. He should have stayed at OU.

Very shortsighted. This was a common statement during the last search. Kelly and Riley left their teams early. We need to land the right coach who can attract good coordinators and assistants. If that means we have to wait 3 months to avoid 48 months of mediocrity, so be it.

P. S. - I am not shooting the messenger. Very much appreciate you providing an update. Would be pleased with Dillingham or Lane.
