Forecast all relevant scenarios ahead of time?
There’s four weeks and 18 or so relevant teams left. We know the rules for playoff berth for every Pro League. Why not remove the controversy and mystery now?

Do you have any idea how many different permutations that comes out to?
Not to mention that wouldn’t even factor in eye test/advanced stats, results from teams not in that top-18 that could impact that top-18’s SOS and SOR (and conference tiebreakers), etc.

What do you mean by this? You want them to show 50 different "possible" playoff brackets?

Ohio State could finish the season 9-3 as of now and out of the playoffs
Texas could finish the year 11-2 and SEC Champs
Pitt can win out and be 11-2 ACC champ or Duke who is 5-4 now can win the ACC
That's just 4 teams and it can be dozens of permutations just from those 4

And this doesn't include what happens if "their best wins" start falling apart and also go on losing streaks

Well they are currently down two members and apparently had zero plans set up to replace anyone who drops out so I think that's a good indication they aren't really all that good at planning ahead w/various scenarios.
I'm still fairly convinced they don't even watch much more than highlights for most teams when determining who all is good. I'd be shocked if any of them has watched more than one full game w/a G5 team this season.

They don’t make any more money off this. Contracts are set.

it's so bad when they start these rankings and then it makes it harder to justify moving teams up and down
I know you need transparency but I would have one ranking the week before championship games and the final ranking after those games
that's it

Does revenue not scale with viewership? was thinking that the mystery behind the CFP committee decisions generates additional engagement from fair weathered fans and subsequently generate more revenue. Remove the mystery and those fans types stop watching, reading news and message boards about their team

I remember one the ESPN hosts actually saying Florida State was left out of the playoff because Alabama would bring more money
