they are a for profit conglomerate that is pretty far removed from Jesus. There are some good priests and nuns who are salt of the Earth people, but beyond that it's not the church of Jesus.

Always be improving yourself. That's why we practice Catholicism. It's a founding principle that we are imperfect followers of Christ.

Most people reject Jesus and would kill him again if he walked the earth today.
The Catholic Church would lead the way. Or do we forget that the main reason Jesus was rejected in his time was because he refused to become a political leader and rule over the people? Because whose world is this?
Jesus told the rich man to sell his things and follow him. The Catholic Church just wants a cut of their riches and will tell the rich man he is saved. Nothing but lies.

i mean, not to get too theological but one could make a strong argument that christianity is a religion about jesus, not the religion of jesus.
jesus preached an idiosyncratic version of judaism. you could argue that paul was the true founder of christianity (while still acknowledging jesus christ as our lord and savior).
