Some judge had to sign off on that. It's one thing to want records, it's a whole other thing to get it approved. This is much deeper than just Jack Smith's fishing expedition.

This shows just how out-of-control the corrupt Political Establishment really is. Hell, McCarthy was one of them, and they STILL wanted to SPY* on him.

Them being able to judge shop for someone that would sign off on absolutely anything they wanted would be the least surprising thing about this whole illegal abomination.
