In town for the day and would like to take my son to an old school po boy or seafood restaurant. Recommendations? Thanks

I'll tell you one not to go to. It's Lloyd's downtown BR. Roast Beef was sliced Deli meat in a tasteless gravy. And the shrimp were small with the batter falling off. Best part of the meal were the onion rings.

I've never had a bad poboy from Jeds. But I hardly see it mentioned here. Did it fall off or was it never really embraced by this board?

Not a poboy place, but Anthony's Deli has great sandwiches and old school atmosphere.

Damn, no love for Rocco’s Po-Boys? I’ve had them a few times, always were good

Roccos is great. Their crescent city combo is my go to.

I must say, the oyster po-boy I got from Phil's was not good relative to the high price. Also, my fries were cold and undercooked.

However, the charbroiled oysters were really good, as was the spinach dip.

All in all, I'd go back for cocktails and appetizers only.
