If Kiffin goes anywhere after the year it will be NFL here's why...

Ole Miss is a shoe-in to make the play offs and most likely as a top 8 seed and host a first round home game. They'll likely advance to the quarter-finals Jan 1. That's an entire month of December where most all college hiring's will take place and if Kiffin has any sort of moral compass will be focused on the play-offs and the prospective schools (LSU, FL etc) will move on to plan B. If not, and if Ole Miss loses in the quarterfinal under any circumstance or even round1, then a lot of people outside of whoever he signs with will say "Ole Miss lost b/c he was focused on his new job".
On the other hand, NFL hiring's take place between the last week of the regular season on up until after the superbowl. Which is after the college playoffs. Even if Ole Miss won it all and Kiffin jumped ship to the NFL afterwards, no one would question his intent or that he put all focus on Ole Miss for the play offs. I actually think as we sit here today Kiffin's current frame of mind is staying at Ole Miss.
I do think the most likely scenario is that he stays focused on Ole MIss, but when this season is over he will realize he's taken them as far as he or anyone can and move on to the NFL. I think he will be looking at the long term picture and have a 2 to 3 year NFL plan and if things aren't working he will know he's still a hot commodity back at the college level. If this happened he'd be patterning his career after Saban who I think is his idol.
