Just because he is a local guy who has had success the last couple years as OC at Miami- anyone thinks he gets a look at a smaller school for HC anytime soon? He had his first OC job at WV under Holgerson, has had stops in between and now is under Cristobal at Miami. His most notable years have been working for HCs who are involved on the offensive side of the ball, so I don’t know how much of the success he has had is due to mentorship and working under offensive minded HCs and how much is him.

Because he’s a local guy I’d love to see him have success on a larger scale if that’s what he wants.

Because I actually read your post, where you clearly are NOT advocating for him to be LSU's HC, have an upvote. I'd love to see the LA native get a shot at HC at a school like ULL or LA Tech.

I made a thread about him several weeks ago. I went to high school with Shannon and think he should get a look to be the next LSU OC. I hope whoever we hire will give him a look. LSU is definitely his dream job, and he'd be a huge upgrade over what we've had the last couple years.

See- that’s where my question is. I can’t tell from afar how much Miami’s offensive success the past couple years is due to him and how much is Cristobal who I have read does sometimes call plays. He has a great family (I used to know some of them) and I’m sure is a great guy- just don’t know what his ceiling is.

I've seen Shannon's name mentioned for the HC position at Virginia Tech and that would honestly probably be a great spot for him to continue stacking his resume.

That said, I've been an advocate of him coming to LSU as an OC for a while now. I knew Shannon when we were kids and he was always a good dude, haven't seen him in several years now though.
