This brings me back to hearing this commercial with my buddy, and then riffing on the hook for an hour straight on the ride to Bay St. Louis and annoying his parents

I generally agree, but I had a cellphone in 1995. I think what you meant to say was no SMARTphones....

The human experience was better pre-internet. Sad but true.

Yep, you’re correct.
My Dad had a bag phone in his Saturn work vehicle.

One of the most successful ad campaigns in American history.

I didn't know it ran for as long as it did. 14 years.

My dad bought a 78 pickup. It was his work truck. Drove it to the plant everyday. AM radio, no AC, no power steering. I think he spent around $3500 for it. He eventually gave it to me. Loved that truck.

I failed to mention it was 3 on the tree. Hot as hell in the summer but the windows rolled down. Got me through LSU with that inline 6.

That’s exactly what I meant. Is it cool to be able to come to a website like this and shoot the shite with people on a variety of topics? Yea, it is.

Something is missing from the human element though and I don’t think it is coming back. Commercials like the old Chevy ones just highlight the focus on the human experience more than a truck.

Cellphones mid 90s were rare. I remember that if you were a high school senior and you had a beeper, you were the shite.

One of the many reasons I dropped Instagram was an account that would play old commercials. The account got reported for "racism" by progressives because the old commercials weren't "diverse enough".

Should have had one where it's just slo-mo mud ridin' at a work site , no music just engine noise. It was the best part of those commercials
