Civil disobedience and pogy boats

Obviously the only thing that is going to stop this pogy insanity is a hit in the pocket book.
My suggestion
We stop buying salt water lic.
Its getting to the point with all of the restrictions and reduced limits on saltwater fish, its not even worth making trips to the coast. I can just as easily go to Toledo Bend or even Mississippi for coastal fishing. It's not like i get to make that many fishing trips a year anyway.
If you can not do without going to the La Coast, just skip the lic part. Its just a misdemeanor. (Although, I will just not go)
Knowing how Louisiana is ran, I am willing to bet a 10% reduction in fishing lic will put WLF in chaos.
For myself, I bought a lic in August, I don't think I will renew next time unless something changes.

I have suggested to stop launching your boats in the parishes that choose pogey boats over recreational fisherman. Namely Plaquemine parish and Vermilion parish.
Also move all fishing tournaments out of these two parishes. Hit them where it hurts. If they want pogey money, they can survive on pogey money only.
Extend the buffer zone or we stop giving them money. Pretty simple.

Loss of license monies will hurt. Lose federal dollars from Dingell-Johnson Act. It's allocated by number of licenses sold per state. Less sales means it gets cut.

Came expecting sappers / limpet mines, ministry of ungentlemanly warfare style.
Stop fishing?

would you include dropping anchors, rope and floats submerged in front of the working pogy boat to tangle nets a civil disobedience?

I would consider this felonious acts and personally would not condone.
The only reason I would condone not buying a fishing lic and still fishing is because I know most sportsman just want to complain and not willing to sacrifice a year or two without fishing saltwater for a greater cause. In fact, I have known many fisherman over the years that differ not from the pogie boat mentality that led us here. In Louisiana, there is still a prevalent thought of "I gots to gets mine" when it comes to the outdoors.
I do know, that attacking a bottom pillar of the food chain, will ultimately lead us into a fishery that resembles the rest of the gulf coast and not what the Sportsman paradise can be.

blockade their ports would be a good option.

I wonder if parish's can make their own rules or if they would be overrode by state laws. Like could we get Jefferson parish to outlaw it, therefore removing Grand Isle from their list of targets.

In Mississippi each of the 3 coastal counties regulated the industry differently, and the 1 mile buffer they all have now is a statute enacted by the counties, not the state to my knowledge.

We don't need to regulate, we need to outlaw purse seine fishing for any reason, you know like most of the modern world.
