I would consider this felonious acts and personally would not condone.

The only reason I would condone not buying a fishing lic and still fishing is because I know most sportsman just want to complain and not willing to sacrifice a year or two without fishing saltwater for a greater cause. In fact, I have known many fisherman over the years that differ not from the pogie boat mentality that led us here. In Louisiana, there is still a prevalent thought of "I gots to gets mine" when it comes to the outdoors.

I do know, that attacking a bottom pillar of the food chain, will ultimately lead us into a fishery that resembles the rest of the gulf coast and not what the Sportsman paradise can be.

Civil disobedience and pogy boats

Obviously the only thing that is going to stop this pogy insanity is a hit in the pocket book.

My suggestion
We stop buying salt water lic.

Its getting to the point with all of the restrictions and reduced limits on saltwater fish, its not even worth making trips to the coast. I can just as easily go to Toledo Bend or even Mississippi for coastal fishing. It's not like i get to make that many fishing trips a year anyway.

If you can not do without going to the La Coast, just skip the lic part. Its just a misdemeanor. (Although, I will just not go)

Knowing how Louisiana is ran, I am willing to bet a 10% reduction in fishing lic will put WLF in chaos.

For myself, I bought a lic in August, I don't think I will renew next time unless something changes.
Even if its rough, the fish can still be feeding. i have had some of my best days surf fishing when the boats are harbored.

I mostly just fish artificial; muddy water is a bigger deal than the forecast. Muddy water and I go to live bait; reluctantly.
Sometimes when its rough, the wind will bring in that clear green water from the deep. My advice is go when you can go. A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.

I have an old Mossberg 22 mag bolt action that was my grandpa's and would like to pass it on to my son. I would like some suggestions on who could refurbish this gun for me. The main problem is the bolt is stuck, something is missing with the slide mechanism. I would also like to have the gun re-blued and the stock sanded and refinished. A general cleaning and back in safe operating condition.

My grandpa gave it to me 40 years ago. I think it is from the late 1950's. It is an awesome rifle, a varmint gun for sure. Highly accurate.

All suggestions would be much obliged.

re: Butcher Block Counter Tops

I do butcher block and wood countertops as part of my high end carpentry biz.

The ones from lowes or Hd are usually cheap wood, thin and soft. I have done customs up to 3 inches thick of solid wood.

A custom walnut/spalted maple, pecan or cherry end grain can be the show piece of your kitchen. I also like to mix these woods like a high end cutting board. You can dice the vegs on it without worry.

With high end woods all you need is mineral oil saturation and then polish out some bees wax on top; beautiful and safe for food. if not used for food prep, options for finishing are quite a few.

Fishing La1 roads after IDA

Posted by tropheus12 on 11/14/21 at 6:37 pm
Got some days off and was wondering.

I know IDA made a mess but is it possible to fish the side of the road between Leeville and GI ?

Any Info would help.

re: Termite damage options

Not to be the bearer of bad news but....

That looks like heart pine studs to me. Termites really don't like to chew on heart pine. But they will trail through the studs looking for greener pastures, usually in your ceiling are on a headers. I have seen quite a few houses that would have a half eaten stud or two and then have massive damage 50 feet away. Better check everything.

If it is cypress, I would be willing to remove it for free.

I built a 19 foot Glen L wooden Aquacat. I am quite good with wood and wanted the challenge. And a laborious challenge it was.

My advice

The only reason to build a wood boat is for the love of the labor. It's more like art. If you are looking to express yourself artistically than go for it.

If you are thinking you can save money - forget about it. You will come out way cheaper buying a good used fiber glass boat.

I fell for all the epoxy on wood propaganda. You will fight rot if you use it.
