Just got back from a trip to Pebble. Played both pebble and spyglass. For those that have been, did you enjoy one more than the other? I really thought spyglass was a better track than pebble. If I could only play one of them again, it would definitely be Spy

What did you like so much about Spyglass? The first five holes are incredible and some of the best opening holes in golf. After that, I thought it was a bit of a slog.

I prefer Spanish Bay over Spyglass. First 5 holes at Spyglass are great. I prefer being able to see the ocean on every hole that Pebble offers. Of course, I wouldn’t turn down an opportunity to play there again, just not my first choice.

I just thought Spy required a bit more strategy. I also freaking loved the par 3’s

I enjoyed Spyglass more, probably cause I played like arse at Pebble. Shot something like 74-85. But walking up 18 at Pebble was a thing of beauty.

I could play the front 9 at Pebble every day for a year. Its a perfect mix of holes in an amazing setting. Holes 6, 7, 8 are the best 3 hole group in the country. TPC Sawgrass is the only thing that comes close and it cant touch the setting.

4-10 at Pebble had me in complete awe. 2nd shot on 6th was the most intimidating shot of my life from right side of fairway. 17th is so iconic. Teary eyed walking up 18 at Sunset. I dont think I can ever top that experience

Hope to play soon. Good to know! How did you go about setting up the trip? Did you stay at the lodge?

I loved them both. The walk at pebble is about as good as it gets. Just enjoying the day out there is incredible. Spyglass is a tougher golf test, and I enjoyed it for that reason. I really enjoyed Spanish as well.

If you have a spare 4 hrs, check out Pacific Grove Links. Front 9 is quirky and fun. Back 9 is really fantastic.

I don’t understand this take.

Pebble is miles ahead of both Spanish and spy glass. In a completely different class.

I get it, but I just think there are better holes on Spy compared to both Spanish and pebble. Views are certainly far better on the other two

Spanish is my favorite because it’s links style and I find it easier than PB or Spy. Pebble is epic, I think Spyglass is harder, and the backside of Pacific Grove is fun but the front is short and dumb

Pebble is my choice, first time was in awe of the scenery/history. The second time golf mattered more. Nothing against Spyglass or Spanish Bay, both excellent tracts. I favor Spyglass between these two.
