If the SC declares Trump's tariffs illegal, what happens to all the billions of dollars in tariffs they have collected so far? Will they need to be refunded?

The same thing that happens when companies and consumers pay more taxes than they owe

I'm interested in what happens to the stock market and how long it'll take to recover. I'm hoping to liquidate many stock holdings by early January. Willing to accept the hit on mutual funds I own.

The Constitution places power over taxes, levies and duties squarely in Congress's hands. However, Congress has delegated a lot of that power to the President.
The real question is whether or not Trump has been coloring within the lines with his fast and loose tariff jabs.
