Hope we turn the pressure on Brent Key if no Kiffin

Even though they lost, I think he’s one of the best coaches out there that we could hire.
It’ll be hard with all his tech ties but he seems like he’d really do well to bring back the toughness at LSU. Has hired solid coordinators in the last well.

I saw something from Athlon Sports that says he's now the favorite for Auburn.

Key is the best football coach this cycle. Better than Kiffin. Whoever gets him wins this cycle.

GT will keep him. Turn focus to Buster Faulkner the OC at GT.

You hope they do. He has already interviewed with PSU and AU. He is leaving.

In the big picture, Key is AUs best option - an OL-minded offensive coach who won't allow the putrid OL play we've seen for a decade, and someone who might keep Durkin.
Auburn holds the cards where Durkin is concerned:
new coach keeps him, he's under contract for two more years, or
Durkin is offered and says no, in which case he owes Auburn 4M$
Durkin is hired elsewhere, in which case Durkin/new team owes Auburn 4M$

Les Miles was an O-line coach, and he had some pretty putrid O-lines at LSU

I dont understand the hype on Key.. If Kelly had their schedule hed still be here. The OC is the high upside coach there

Where's this coming from

It's possible that he interviewed in order for Georgia Tech to give him a raise.
Willie Fritz interviewed for jobs pretty much every year and it always ended with him getting a raise or his staff a raise.

Best coach on the board. We'd be stupid to not go after him.
You gotta look beyond the schedule, the QB etc. It's the coach hiring and culture and grit that program has. That's what we want here.

Brent Key,
quote:
“Since I came back here, since I was named the head coach here, outside of the time with my family, every waking second of my life, has gone towards building this program, to get to the point that it is right now. So that in turn we can continue three years from now, five years from now, 10 years from now, continue to elevate this place to be in that conversation. Not to be in there for two or three weeks, but to be a consistent team, not when you lose one game, have people say the story book is over. Nah, it is just beginning. Slice me open and see what colors I bleed.”

Assuming he is, and I think that it is a stretch, Kiffin is the most known quantity out there and it isn't close. He has been thru the ringer of big time college football. He has stepped on his own dick numerous times, been made to pay for it and worked his way back up and is now winning at a place that was a black hole before his arrival.
He has by far the highest floor of anyone realistically available. However, nothing is given, and to play devils advocate with myself, the same thing was basically said about Kelly when he was hired here.
