I know in the current comic canon you have the Bat-Family consisting of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, and usually the Barbara Gordon version of Batgirl. All of them have ties to Bruce.

So let’s suppose Bruce dies from some crazy crime spree and finally succumbs to the life he’s been living. Who takes up the Mantle of Batman? Or do they let it die with Bruce?

Bruce is an old man at this point. I’m talking Prime Bruce.

Damian Wayne

We assume he is the heir to Wayne Enterprises and while not a man yet, he would only need a few years start looking the part.

If you want an immediate replacement and if he is still Robin then Jason Todd would be a more physical looking replacement.

It really depends on what era we are talking about.

Dick

He is the traditional one.

The other one who has also recently carried it is Damien.

Jason usually remains as Red Hood and Tim is simply the lesser loved of the Robins that people care less about.

Assuming you could find the right actor, a movie about Dick becoming Batman would be pretty badass. Especially with the right villain that can figure out it’s not the same guy.

Dick Grayson is one of the best pure superheroes out there.

He's even better than Bruce honestly.

So him.

I'd prefer a film about him becoming Nightwing.

Grayson originally took the name as a tribute to Batman and Superman*, the two heroes who shaped his career. Just the fact that he was sensible enough to temper his Batman template with what he learned from Superman shows that he knew the danger of going down Bruce's dark path.

I always thought that Ma and Pa Kent were the most important people in the DCU, and Dick Grayson was the best result of the first and second ages of superheroes.

*Nightwing was the identity used by Superman when he would fight crime in the Kryptonian city of Kandor (an accidental homage to his friend Batman).

Dick Grayson is the only legitimate answer.

This has already happened when Darkseid "killed" Batman and they had "Battle for the Cowl" following.

Dick Grayson becomes Batman with Damian as Robin. incredible run.

Grant Morrison did a run where Grayson wore the cowl while Bruce was lost in time. I think around the mid 2010s. Very good stories. Biggest thing that I still remember is Grayson complaining about the cape.
