As much as I like the idea of Nick Saban coming back, part of me doesn’t want it to happen

I appreciate everything he did for us, But would hate for him to taint his legacy at LSU, by dealing with all the nonsense in today’s game and having it Fail the second go around.
There is no sure fire way to build a program anymore. Too many variables, scenarios, and NIL deals.
If he was 64 my answer would be different, but he is now 74 years old.
Id love for him to be our AD though, and or be closer to the program but not as our coach anymore.
Need a young man, someone like Jay that’s hungry and would feed off Saban(if he was AD) like he does Skip.
The build it from the Top Down model.

I’m not sure I really believe he’s coming back.
But for the sake of argument, if he does come back, even if he we don’t win a championship or even win the SEC, he can point us back in the right direction. Not that no one else can do that.

I’d take 4 years of Saban over 10 years of Kiffin. Probably win more titles and it would be hilarious.

I don’t care about his legacy, but I sort of also don’t want him back. It feels like a desperate plea to get back an ex who has moved on. And he’s old and retired bc of the portal/NIL. He won’t have the crazy talent advantage he enjoyed at Bama if all the money is going to him and not to recruiting players.
Why? He is the GOAT football coach but what makes him such a coveted administrator?

Agreed. Though I’m not totally sure I’d want him as AD either. He should keep enjoying his money and success as he has been imo.

Sabans name alone in the AD world could help LSU tremendously and keep him close to the sport.
Let’s just say Donations would not be a problem.
He would operate as a CEO would.
Anyway, that would be my only hope for him at LSU.

I remember the joke he told that a microphone picked up about folks here feeling like he slept with our sister or something like that. This seems weird to want him back. Bammers were giving him grief towards the end there. He needs to ride off into the sunset.
All this said, he’s the goat coach.

I just cannot for the life of me see him coming back as “just a coach”.
If anything he would come back in some hybrid Leadership role with much more decision making within whole program.

lol, go enjoy being an Ohio State fan I guess.

It’s an opportunity for him to redeem his LSU legacy. He left too early the first time.

Hey look, if that’s how he really still feels about it, then there isn’t anyone gonna be angry if he comes back.
The exposure alone and everything exciting about the program would immediately be back.
The more I keep talking about it makes me want him back too.
I guess we will see

Maybe he just misses coaching. If that’s the case where else would he go to coach his last few years?

He’s also Nick Saban.

Let me tell you something. If the less than 1 percent chance of Saban coming here actually comes to fruition, you better thank your God. Because we will be lucky to not fall into oblivion for a decade as of right now.

Taint his legacy? What? I would respect him embracing the challenge and I want what is best for LSU.
