LSU/Bama Game Week....Tidbits inside

LSU (5-3, 2-3 SEC) will travel to Tuscaloosa this weekend to face No. 4 Alabama (7-1, 5-0 SEC) in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30pm CT and the game will air on ABC.
Both teams are coming off bye weeks. This will be LSU's first game with interim coach Frank Wilson, who took over when Brian Kelly was fired last week.
Alabama leads the overall series against LSU, 57-27-5. Click here for complete series history.
Betting line: Alabama -11.5 | Over/Under: 49.5

Frank Wilson Press Conference Tidbits:
- Arkansas @ LSU officially selected for 11:45am CT on SEC Network
- Team morale is very high
- Tyree Adams is out for Bama game
- Whit Weeks is questionable, Carius Curne is questionable
- Whit Weeks will try to practice starting tomorrow and evaluate status later in the week.
- Nuss is still the starter but they will look for opportunities to get Michael Van Buren involved if the right situation presents itself.
- DC Blake Baker asked Frank for a physical practice tomorrow...an inside run drill to give the defense more exposure to physical play before the Bama game.
- Harlem Berry's dad went to school with Frank Wilson...(St Aug High School)...Berry's dad was in the band when Frank played football. Harlem has put on 18-20 pounds since he arrived at LSU.
- Early signing day starts in 30 days...coach will be calling recruits in '26 and '27 classes this week...lots of communication to recruits and their family this week...
- Alex Adkins will call plays from the press box. Tim Rattay will be in press box too.

"Garrett is the starting quarterback" but Michael Van Buren brings special things to the table that makes the defense have to defend. They'll put him in when certain opportunities present themselves.

Baker asked Frank for a physical practice because our soft arse practices haven’t given him a good scout team look all year leading into games.

Instead he said that they have practiced situational plays for MVB but aren't taking Nuss off the field to run them.
eta: Looks like it's Chester at LT again with Adams out and Curne questionable. Which also means Davis is the only option at RT unless they kick Thompson out to tackle and fill RG with a reserve.

Kelly has credited Marucci multiple times over the last 2 years with designing our very low work load fall camps. We have prioritized minimizing injury rather than building physicality.
I think it’s great to use Marucci’s data to help build an approach to practice and take things into account. But Kelly had zero feel in how to use that data. Similar to how Kelly had very little feel in how to use the 4th down analytics. It’s been noted in several articles that we have very little actual workload during fall camp to keep guys healthy due to Marucci’s practice design. That came at the expense of having a soft football team.

I like giving him an oppurtunity, but when you use him like this, all the defense has to do is key on him because it's more than likely a qb run.
