Why Saban may want to return

I think Saban retired when he did for a few reasons. First being his age, but more importantly because the avalanche of changes like the transfer portal, NIL, NCAA getting castrated, etc. The entire college football environment was in turmoil and he didn’t want to be in the middle of it.
I think he may want to come back after spending the past couple of years seeing how things have developed and how things work now and being more comfortable being able to navigate in the current environment. He is a competitive SOB and I think he sees this as a challenge he wants to take on and knows that LSU will give him whatever he wants, and then more, to make him successful again.

Everything has a price tag.

First step to recovery is admitting you have a problem…

maybe if he was 67-70
i mean spurrier barely made it to 70 stumbling to the finish line and called it quits.
he is 74. money means nothing to him as he does not have enough time left on earth even if he lives 20 more years to spend it all.

Saban isn’t coming back. He said recently in an interview that player development is what he most enjoyed about CFB and that doesn’t really exist any longer. He doesn’t need the money. He worth 50 million and making bank with ESPN.

Saban is incomplete without competition. The drive to excellence/perfection is what drives him. Some cannot live happily without the grind of high level competition. He seems miserable sitting beside that fool on Game Day.

I totally agree with you. He wouldn’t do it for the money but because he has coached his entire life and misses it. Plus he has a real sweet spot for LSU and I think he just can’t understand how this program has sunk to the level it currently is in.

Didn't we just fire a coach that was only here for the money?

Giving BK a 10/100 guaranteed at age 60 is different than giving the GOAT a 4/60 contract.

I think you’re consumed with …. Some. Strange. Variant. Of.

Guaranteed money has nothing to do with the point I was trying to make. The guy I responded to basically said if we pay him enough he will come. Why would I want a coach that is only here for the money?

Hey, all you dumb fricks. I didn’t say he IS coming back. The literal headline is why he MAY want to come back. My god all you knee jerk reactionaries obviously have 0 critical thinking/reasoning skills. It’s like I’m talking to a bunch of third graders…oh wait this is the Rant, I probably am.

Cause Saban would only come for a lot of money

I think he comes back as AD. Not head football coach.

He has found his niche on game day. I don’t think he returns to coaching.

I tend to agree with this.

I think he has gotten so much better and more comfortable on gameday. I think he likes doing it however, I just don’t think that is something he loves. He’s a true coach and I just get this feeling he may need to scratch that itch of coaching again. Or at the very least be AD.

Look silly continuing to make posts about this nonsense.

Then don’t read it or reply to it. You think I care what you think of what I post on an anonymous fan message board?

Saban is not returning to coach. Why are people obsessed with this? He is enjoying being on GameDay and giving insight. CFB is not something he enjoys with the unregulated NIL.
