Bottom line is you can’t give a coach $100 mil guaranteed and get nothing but cheez it and Texas bowl trophys out of it.

You don’t get to whiff on the football hire at that rate and get a chance to hire the replacement.
Didn’t help that he burned your second highest revenue sport to the ground, and then doubled down on it this year in March.
Not a fan of the public spectacle, but he needed to move on.

There’s only 1 sport that makes money dipshit! Jay Johnson and mulkey were total grand slams. He also hired Clark that won a natty. Are you brainless???

You don't give 10-years with $95 million guaranteed to a coach who fails and not pay for it. Woodward took that big of a risk because he was certain Kelly was a sure thing. He was very wrong and paid the price.

On paper BK just needed the talent that he couldnt get at ND.
I had no problem with the hire and Woodward doesnt make BK hire crap coordinators.
Woodward has done a lot of good and he loves LSU.
I might fault him for the 10 yr deal and buyout amount but that is where CFB is now.
I dont think it is SW.fault that BK crapped his pants on coord hores.

Basketball is a revenue generator. In today’s revenue share you have to be good in Basketball and football with all of the investment going in. We are hemorrhaging money in all sports not basketball and football currently. People touting Mulkey as some great hire need to give it a rest. Our women’s basketball program lost more money than any other program in the country last year. Who cares if we got Mulkey? This is a money move because Woodward is just shelling out people’s money left and right.
I’m not sure if this is a good move of or not, so I’ll sit back and see. Woodward whiffed big time with huge contracts for both main sports and he is losing his job because of it.
