Who underwrote BK's contract and Woody's contract?

Who is on the hook?
Posted on 10/30/25 at 5:43 pm to loogaroo
The people who pay him, aka the boosters
The university pays a very small part, less than a million per year, so they'll be on the hook for that.
Nothing about taxpayers

The contracts are signed with LSU. Who pays in the event of a default?

Default of what?

The LSU athletic department, which is self-funded. Or are you suggesting the LSU athletic department is at risk of default?

Boosters. The buyout by this guy

Yes, I we would have had to keep BK. I will probably never happen, but someone has to be on the hook for the checks being written.

he is repeated the talking point Landry had on Moscona's show today.
It is a half truth in name only and has never and will never happen. It isn't based in reality and only a talking point to take advantage of people who are too dumb to realize that boosters pay the salary and will pay this buyout, not LSU.

The LSU athletic department is not at risk of default.
If there’s no negotiated lump sum and Kelly’s buyout isn’t covered by a private donor, the absolute worst case scenario is that the athletic department continues to pay him $8.5m/year for the next 6 years.
Meanwhile we are choosing to pay $18.5m/year for revenue sharing and will start receiving an extra $15m/year from the ESPN deal in a month or so. And are being paid millions for the Venture Global deal (field logos). And are set to receive another $10-20m/year if the NCAA allows jersey patches. And…
The worst case scenario is that the LSU athletic department has to pay Kelly the $8.5m/year they’d prefer to spend on something else. The horror!

Someone or something has to have collateral for these contracts.
Have you ever borrowed money?

OP has been going into threads asking these rhetorical questions thinking he’s owning everyone when in reality he’s just making himself look like an idiot.
Donors don’t come out and yell about paying buyouts. That’s not how this works.
Everyone with a brain knows this is how these things work. Kelly could get his entire buyout and all that it would cost the taxpayer is the $400k annual salary agreed to 5 years ago. In other words, nothing.
Imagine going to bat like this for Jeff fricking Landry

The “taxpayer” isn’t paying that either. Unless we consider season ticket sales and ad revenue to be “taxes.”

Nice cut and past. Post the link next time. We are all aware of that. It doesn't change the senario.
