Thinks a g4 coach is good for lsu. He dont want to spend 10 million again on a coach. He's afraid the taxpayers will have to pay if coach is fired. I thought taf and boosters took care of that. I regret voting for him now since he started all this medleing.

He doesn't care how much the next coach is paid as long as the salary and buyout is all privately funded (news flash)

He’s absolutely right in this aspect. Kelly’s contract is with LSU, not TAF or individual donors. Thus, legally, LSU is on the hook for the buyout.

Practically speaking, through TAF, private donors usually pay it, but they are not legally obligated to pay it, LSU is the only party legally obligated to pay.

There is a simple solution that alleviates his concern, and allows everyone to move forward.

Have TAF guaranty any buyout (or at least any buyout over base salary). Gives the taxpayers cover.

What he said about the AD and coach not having the same agent actually makes a lot of sense (Woodward and Kelly had the same agent)

-Basically he is fine with 100m+ contracts as long as Louisiana isn’t “guarantor” (I don’t love his argument here, but he’s trying to make political point)

-He said rising cost of coaches & players is not good for sport. He said raising tix prices makes gameday unaffordable for avg fan

-He wants incentives in contract to win, not a bloated contract that promotes laziness

-Agents have a monopoly on college sports and collecting 20% on every deal.

-He said he is hands off on coaching search. BOS will find a coach with a committee. He doesn’t want to be involved with it.

-Said Woodward’s future is up to new president on Nov 4.

Sounds like Landry is backtracking and saving face some tbh. His tone was different. I wish he would be quiet but I do agree with 75% of what he is saying.

Once we have a new President I think it all goes away

No he’s not. He wants the taxpayers to be afraid they’ll be on hook for a buyout. Most know better. I guess some out there think they would get an itemized bill for their % of a buyout.

He knows a trigger doesn’t get pulled on a buyout unless the money has already been lined up and ready.

If he’s so worried about taxpayers being on the hook about stuff he maybe shouldn’t say stuff like this

"I can't wait to be sued," after signing a Louisiana law that mandates the display of the Ten Commandments in public classrooms.

What the dollars were small this is not a big deal but as dollars go up, this state really does need legal protection in these contracts

Landry thinks our astronauts can land on the sun, as long as they go at night.

The Gubnor is too retarded to understand that the tax payers weren’t on the hook for 100 million in Kelly’s contract . It’s always amazed me the people that get voted in by the citizens in the state whether it be mayoral offices or Governor’s offices. I haven’t lived in Louisiana in 25 years but that aspect still hasn’t changed.

So we can’t hire any coach who has the same agent as our AD? That would be idiotic
