The Democrats are using the shutdown as “leverage“ to offer a "wish list" bill....

Why don’t the Republicans do the same thing?
The Democrats are looking to “negotiate” to pass all of their insane pork projects and add another $1.5 trillion to the deficit. The Republicans should do the exact same thing.
Explain to the Democrats that if this is all about negotiations, then the Republicans will also submit a wish list bill and we can negotiate off of those two bills – not a clean continuing resolution that makes no changes in the law.
The Republican wish list bill can include at least $1 trillion in budget cuts to the current budget. Passing every change made by DOGE as a law. eliminate USAid in its entirety by law. Place restrictions on eligibility for Obamacare subsidies and Medicaid/Medicare. More tax cuts for all. Overall yearly limits on immigration. Severe criminal penalties for anyone who abuses the immigration amnesty provisions. Entirely eliminate any government funds going to nonprofit organizations and NGO’s. Eliminate drivers licenses and Social Security numbers for all illegal aliens. And perhaps most important of all - mandatory Voter ID in every federal election and the elimination of mail-in voting.
Negotiations will begin based upon the two competing bills – not a clean continuing resolution.

There’s a lot of things I would negotiate for in order to get mandatory Voter ID with severe criminal penalties for any violations and elimination of mail-in ballots.
Of course, we know that Democrats rely heavily on massive fricking voter fraud so there is absolutely no fricking way they would ever even begin negotiating on that.

Exactly. Once you start negotiating you normalize and justify their behavior playing right into their hands. Both sides always pass clean resolutions and their failure to follow suit means this is on them.

I'm not sure what cave you've been hiding in..... but I strongly disagree.
All this attention to the "gimmedats" has not been good for the Marxist Dems. It's made more common, hard working, tax paying citizens aware of the utter greed, ungrateful, and entitled attitudes of those receiving SNAP benefits.
