Name not big enough to recruit top shelf players. Lsu brand is a good selling point but its not enough. You need a proven big name who has been known to recruit top shelf qbs.

I'll say this, if he goes to another power 4/5 school and wins 3 yrs straight and he is known on a national scale then yes. He has some building of "his" brand to do before he can be a legit LSU candidate. Not doubting his coaching but its like they always say, players wanna play for a nationally known coach. The players end goal is to make the NFL. Players went to Saban for that alone.

LSU recruits itself. Plus sumrell alredy familar with the LA recruiting scene with his time at Tulane. As long as frank wilson and Raymond still there we will still recruit big time guys. Sumrell by all accounts is a relentless guy he would kill it recruiting behind our resources

I mean every class we had under Kelly was in the top 10 we were still racking up top 10 classes. Developing tho was lacking amoung those classes unfortunately. The 23 class in particular was a gigantic bust

Alex Golesh.....HC at USF and was OC and TE coach at Tennessee before being hired at USF. Tenn has a nationwide top 10 offense under his tenure.
