Kelly contract was idiotic from the start. 10yr makes no sense in this environment. Realistic lifespan of a contract is 3-5 years, the 10 year contract is better for the school if the coach is good and better for the coach if he’s bad. Kelly is a rockstar and kills it he gets $10mil/yrfor 4 years and renews slightly higher, he’s a train wreck he gets over $25/yr of work paid over 10 years. Completely stupid numbers he was practically incentivized to suck.
With an effective rate of $27ish mil/yr $95/3.5 years. Go throw $15-20 mil at someone at a 3-4 yr deal with a mil per playoff win and a $5mil kicker for a championship. Guy has a chance to make $25-30/yr if he’s a winner and if he didn’t perform the buyout in 3-4 years is next to nothing.
This isn’t that difficult.

Pay your coach way less and dump all the rest on NIL.

Primetime and Dr. Dre as his assistant coach. No recruiting needed, just get all the top 100 recruits by signing off the book record deals.

Don't forget about Snoop and Diddy. Diddy can coordinate from his cell and supply all the Baby Oil!
