In defense of the anti-feeder bunch, since I spent a little more time on food plots this year, I am definitely getting more deer pics.

How about y’all?

Hunting is better without feeders. It’s a fact

I wish everyone would collectively quit baiting and feeding deer. Cultivating land to develop good deer habitat is the way to long term success and fun.

The best way to get deer pics pre season is on a salt lick and in season is a pile of rice bran. Baiting works or people wouldn’t do it.
I’ve had some good luck late in the season on food plots. The bucks are run down and need to put some weight back on. They’ll hit green fields in the daylight and hardly pick their head up to look for danger.

Also, we’re in the CWD zone, but we can throw corn from a spreader this year. It’ll be interesting to compare this season to the past couple.

You're getting more pics without bait, on food plots in October? Unpossible. I'm in year 3 of no baiting and it sucks for getting pictures of deer early in the season.

Do you have a water sprinkler system for those plots?

In MS at least, you are not suppose to use a salt lick if you are in a CWD zone.
Any supplemental feeding is illegal.

Food plots are ok but nothing else.

but that process is inaccessible to many hunters. If corn is allowed I have no problem with it. As long as the guy doing it enjoys it. To each his own.

My initial reaction to irrigated food plots was like "oooooooooohhhhh", cause i know a guy and can get water to one of mine easily.

That’s where you are wrong. The feeders pull in the doe. When they go to cruising and looking, they will hit every feeder on the property looking and smelling.

They may not eat the corn but they will check them, when the time is right!

I suppose you’re right if you hunt somewhere where you got seven deer on the property, but that’s not a problem where I hunt actually we have entirely too many dose

Ok whatever you say .

One thing I’ve noticed about deer hunters is everybody is a pro.
I hunt with some real knownit alls

It’s tiresome at times.
People can take the fun out of it real quick.

But I get it. I ove to hunt camp but
Golf is my thing and If I’m not playing for money or against other good golfers I’m not int …..many say I take it too serious …
Same thing with hunting.

Diff strokes for diff folks

It’s not so much as every hunter is a pro it’s probably more that what works for some in one area may not work for those in other areas.

We 100% kill mature bucks on plots with feeders every year. Whether they are checking for does, eating or whatever I don’t care as long as they continue coming out we’ll continue to shoot them.
