Some sort of description would be great, instead of just the link...

LSU is a top 3 job and best of the available jobs.
Woodard has to call Urban and Saban.
Next call ins Lanning.
Last(of these) call should be Kiffin.
Talent pool is thin.
Stoops might get a call because of it.
That's literally it.

Klatt said he could not remember a year like this with so many open high profile jobs.
2021.
Illinois
Tennessee – Josh Heupel (hired Jan 2021)
LSU – Ed Orgeron was replaced by Brian Kelly, but Kelly was hired late 2021 for the 2022 season.
Tennessee had a new coach in 2021;
Florida hired Napier
Big 12
Oklahoma – Lincoln Riley continued (left in late 2021, effective 2022).
Pac-12
Washington – Kalen DeBoer (hired Dec 2021, coaching 2022 season)
USC – Clay Helton was fired during 2021; Lincoln Riley hired late 2021 for 2022.
No Pac-12 Power Five school had a new head coach actually coaching in 2021; the changes were mostly for 2022.

Urban
Something not right with this guy. He needs to be left alone.
quote:
Saban
Sweet baby Jesus make it stop
quote:
Lanning
Not going anywhere. He has everything he could possibly want, plus job security. He already turned Bama down.
quote:
Kiffin
He loves Oxford and will make over 11 million this year. Add in low expectations at ole miss and it is unlikely he will leave. Additionally, Kiffin has not proven he can actually put together successful seasons back to back. Outside of this year (which may still implode) he’s looking for one in a row.

No it’s not. The talent pool is rich if you don’t get hung up on “big” names

To be clear, that's what the guy said, not me. Now I am regretting even summarizing it

Not the one you’re probably thinking of, the more successful stoops
Still retarded though

You see this mantra repeated over, and over, and over again on the Rant...followed in the same breath that no one should ever give a huge contract to a coach these days.
It's a long shot any of these guys would take the LSU job. But it's a NO shot any would take it for a "reasonable" contract. While the length of the contract may not be 10 years, the total value would be comparable to Kelly's $100M. None of these guys "need" the LSU job. So it's foolish to think any of them would even consider it absent a massive amount of money. Frankly, they would be fools to not try to leverage LSU for all its worth.
So the fans/boosters need to decide what they want: A "big name" hire? Or a "reasonable contract"? You can't get both simultaneous (though you can certainly get neither)

Both of those guys are washed
It’s a young man’s game right now, the only older coach lighting the world on the fire rn is cignetti.
