Didn’t know the boys in BR had the pockets to pull this off, they said our boosters didn’t have the coffers. Incredible. Love the commitment to excellence.

It's an investment which will get replenished through backdoor business credits and tax breaks. They don't call it the ole boy network for nothing!

There was always the money to fire him.

My question is is there money left over to pay a new staff and put a championship caliber roster together in 2026.

LSU has plenty of big money donors. There are a couple in CA.that are in the tech sector and private equity that are worth 100’s of millions.

Only mouth breathers on this site, without any evidence, repeat it over and over that LSU/boosters don’t have money to compete when there’s an avalanche of evidence that LSU does indeed have plenty of money to do what it wants.

Hanny on Sat night before all this happened: if LSU wants to get rid of Kelly, it’ll have the money to do so.

Todd Graves alone worth 22 billion. 22 billion less 50 million is 21,950,000,000

Get that ChikFilA outta the stadium and roll in the Cane’s. A little signage or maybe some naming rights and it’s a business expense. He was gonna pay 25 mil in taxes on that 50 mil.

You don’t think people considered this before the decision was made?

Unless the benefit he'd be getting in return for 50mil is reasonable, that won't fly.

I think it was Moscona said that they have commitments to cover the first year of the buyout, (around 10 million). Since they only have to pay it in monthly installments, it's something that can be overcome.

It'll be interesting to see if they go the lump sum route after negotiation.

Some of you people have no idea what level of money a few people in Louisiana have in the bank. $50 million is wallet money to some people. It’s a different level of wealth that can’t be comprehended by most because most will never see that kind of money. I can think of 5 families that could put up $100 million each and not even make a slight dent in their wealth. Our alumni and legacy supporters have enough to compete with any university in this country, including Texas and Ohio State. Relax people!!!!

Actually Billions...and both this guy and his wife and Graves and his wife all graduated from Episcopal BR...none went to LSU but have deep love for the school from their family and youth.
