A theory on the buyout and negotiating it down

The ongoing litigation against Brian Kelly and LSU will be used to negotiate Kelly’s buyout down. LSU has a pretty good idea of how strong the case is against them and if Kelly or staff are any bit negligent they have cause to fire him. Especially considering most of the other staff named in the suit have all been dismissed.

Interesting theory. I didn’t know there was a lawsuit

25 million lump sum
Versus
10 million per year
That can be reduced by other income
And could evaporate if cause is found in the interim.

Yea. Brooks family got 2 procedural wins back in May and July. I think part of the negotiations will be LSU will continue to represent Kelly here if he agrees to lower buyout. Just a hunch. But only LSU and OLOL know how big of a problem this is. If it’s a problem for them it’s a problem for Kelly.

If you remove the stipulation that Kelly’s salary is offset by anything else you can make a buyout attractive enough for him. As you said give him $25 million up front cash with no stipulations. It’s a clean break. They are no longer tied to each other

IF he's really done, I have thought about that route being realistic.
He's such an arrogant prick, I can't imagine he's going to end his career like this, which means he'll get a salary to offset his buyout.
