One limiting factor to LSU doing the inevitable is the buyout. Over $50MM to get rid of this guy. We are going to either spend the money on lost seasons as we wait for his buyout to come down, or go ahead and pay it and move on. Not my money so it’s easy for me to say. But if he’s going to get paid either way, should you just pull the trigger now? Surely attendance and other sales are likely to suffer until he’s gone. There’s no coming back from this. Kelly has lost all support and the only thing fans want to see is his empty office.

So why wait?

No good reason to wait.

There’s probably some internal debate if the ship can be righted I’m sure

It’s an expensive decision so can’t fault them for not making a purely emotional decision

The longer he’s here the more it’s going to take to get us back where we should be. Wholesale staff changes will be tough to get quality hires to come to BR with Kelly on a s torching hot seat. Since he’s been here he has failed at putting a quality staff together. How can he be trusted to do it now?

inevitably Kelly will be canned. How can Woodward be trusted to replace Kelly with his last 2 hires/ ridiculous contracts being Jimbo and Kelly. The 2 worst hires and contracts in college history.

Well Mel Tucker was pretty bad but was only one hire. Woodward has 2

I agree, but before I pay him a dime after firing him, I force him to go to court to get his money. And LSU should bring up his wife's divorce proceedings in 2023, and make them tell the court exactly why she wanted out of the marriage. If he wants to tell the world about his private life and potentially lose it all because of a morals clause, let him go for it. I suspect he would settle for considerably less and keep his private life out of the news and try to protect what little legacy he has in his profession.
What does LSU have to lose? They have a lot to gain imho.
This guy deserves whatever happens to him. He is a fraud.

I would love to see him fired today but no harm in lsu taking a little more time to talk through options.

Season is busted either way. No home game for a few more weeks. Probably a good idea to fire him before then. He can go embarrass himself in Tuscaloosa.

Write the check and make it happen.

Otherwise, that’s why you wait.

Wait to knock a few million off the buyout.

And you either keep the staff and fire BK or you fire some staff and keep BK until the end of the year.

You can’t gut the staff mid season.

If you’re on a train heading in the wrong direction, the best thing to do always is to get off at the next stop.

I tend to agree, you gotta pay anyways, so might as well start moving in the new direction. To me it would make sense to let Baker run it in interim and give him a little freedom to do some shakeups on offense and see if that gives them some juice. I'm personally tired of looking at the guy (BK) on the sideline and really dont think he brings any value to the team at this point in the season.

Why in gods green earth would anyone in their right mind work under CBK? You’re doomed.

Denbrock bailed only for CBK to lose to yet another understudy

I don't know, what about telling the entire rest of the world that "guaranteed" doesn't mean anything.

This is a horrible idea dude. Everyone on the face of the Earth would immediately see it for what it is.
