Past their prime, changing coaches every 3-4 years, delusional.
Ain't no Heupel walking through that door
ETA: You buy your rosters year to year as it stands.
There is no more in-state pipeline, you have to bid for these players on the open market. you cannot land the lions share of the top local players anymore because LSU cannot afford to drop this kind of money annually on NIL for players
Tennessee used to enjoy great recruiting when they were one of the only shows on TV, late 90s. Then everyone was on TV, and they had no in-state pipeline. They cycled through a lot of coaches before getting lucky with Heupel.
LSU is about to go through that same hire>rapid fire process because frankly, we are spoiled.

Some of you guys are just pussies lol. Our last coach won a title. Tennessee hasn’t won anything since the 90s. Grow a pair

that was when we could lock up most of the states talent.
Now you have to bid for it. apples and oranges.

If you’re Louisiana born and bred and want 10% more money go play elsewhere, get bent and go.

What we need to do is look at the team that beat us last night. Jimbo Fisher was a flop that they had to pay $70 mil to go away. They didn’t go out and try to find another big fish. Elko was a young guy having success at Duke, but he wasn’t the hottest name that cycle. They only had to give a 6 years, $42 million salary for him, and he is pretty young and hungry.

Minus the championship 5 years ago? Tennessees was 30 years ago lol. Your comparison is dumb and should be embarrassed

Hope I have an opportunity to bump this post 30 years from now when LSU has a legendary coach and is winning championship after championship.

News Flash: NIL was approved and LSU no longer can dominate in-state recruiting.

You’re basing it all on assumptions. The game has changed but not that drastically. It’s not all based on budgets.

LSU has 5 of the top 7 committed. 6 of the top 9. 7 of the top 11 for the 2026 recruiting cycle. Has it taken a hit I mean sure. But that’s still a significant number to say that location still matters to some degree In Louisiana. Now will that hold with our program looking like a dumpster fire, maybe not lol.

signing those guys is worthless... you have to hold on for them for a few years while they develop. we can't afford that.

But if they don't win this year, they will likely have to give him a huge contract and be in same position.

Is this proven? Who have we lost that we significantly developed that went on to be a star at a top program somewhere else? May be a bad question because we haven’t really developed anyone lol, but a legit question as I can’t think of anyone who fits that.

LSU was a powerhouse when Saban/Les/Orgeron would stack classes landing 9-10/10 of LA top talent, then keep them on campus a few years
