I understood and welcomed the BK hire

it was refreshing from what we had under EO during 2020 and 2021. Loved EO and all he did for LSU until the game changed forever with NIL and transfer portal; he then was out of his league.
Now I realize the answer is somewhere in the middle; between cool players coach and old no fun grandpa.
I wouldn’t hate seeing Shane Beamer if that’s all the budget would allow, but my god I hope it’s Clark Lea.

We need someone under 50 years old that understands how to operate in the NIL era. Beamer and Lea would be solid options.

I thought it was a great hire at the time. He was needed to stabilize the program and get us in position for the NIL era.
Unfortunately, he isn’t going to take us to the next level.

I noted overall acceptance by far-more-knowledgeable fans on TD and said very little - disregarding the initial minor gripes.
I even complimented his original 'business-like' approach.
Then came the part of the program where you actually play game of football - and I have grown ever more aligned with my original distaste

The guy was too old for such a contract. I'm a year younger than Kelly and at the time I thought, shite I have a hard time getting motivated to get out of bed at this age. Why the frick would they pay this old man all this money for 10 years? He's way past his prime. So dumb.

I was ok with the BK hire. He kept ND competitive pre NIL and want able to get the best athletes because of admission reqs. Now this showed when facing elite teams in BCS or playoffs. But that is what you expect.
My feeling was that you give him top tier talent and he will win.
For whatever reason he has been unable to put a staff together on both sides of ball that are any good. Either good offense and terrible def or vice versa. That has been real disappointing and unexpected.
