Just a thought and wanted to hear yours. I could imagine a following supporting a week or so there.

We’ve had some threads on who could pull off a Sphere residency.

I was surprised by how successful the Backstreet Boys did. They have added dates.

No Doubt is coming up, which also surprised me. I don’t picture them having that type of following.

Rush definitely could pull off a short run.

Obviously Taylor Swift could do it.

Who else could swing it?

I just saw the Wizard of Oz at the sphere. First thing I thought when I walked in was Rush would be incredible in here.

Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience has its sites set on The Sphere

quote:

This whole concept made me think about it as not just going out there and playing the same thing most nights, to maybe even go out with another band, like an Australian Pink Floyd and have an evening of such amazing classical music — we could then have a much bigger show and lasers and the whole — take it to another realm. You know, even to the point of: if we had the content, if we had the visual content...the Sphere! That's it! All we need is someone to create the content, we'll provide the music. If somebody comes up with the most amazing visuals for Zeppelin, we will go and perform the music to the best of [our] ability, because the Sphere, to me, is not about who's on stage, it's about the sound and then the visual.

Not sure this is doable. Bonham's Zeppelin show is incredible and I would recommend anyone go see it if you have the chance. But I don't think a tribute band could pull of a Sphere run. Could be wrong. Perhaps paired up with a Pink Floyd tribute it could work.

For sure. Surprised that hasn't been at least talked about.

If I'm a big touring band, the idea of staying in one place and having the fans come to me is very attractive.

to answer the question billy strings could easily pull off a three night run at the sphere, although (like phish) the degree of difficulty is higher as each show would have to be different. Easy enough with a standard venue show but three nights of three hour unique visuals is expensive

dead & bro played unique setlists but recycled visuals every night. That would not have been well received by phish fans nor by Billy’s

The Weeknd could easily do a weeks-long residency at The Sphere. I've never been to Vegas. I would take a vacation and go to multiple shows.

I felt like they were adding little things here and there as the 2024 run was evolving.. I swear I saw Jerry Garcia poke his head out of the clouds but I saw it only one time during his birthday show.

For sure the visuals were similar but different in August from the May shows I saw.

Either way there is only so many groups that can pull off an extended residency there.

I don’t think they are really interested in short runs like that. The set up costs with the video package are too high.

Phish, with a 6 night run, is the shortest thus far.

And I think they were hoping to add shows, but the demand wasn’t there.

I'm sure there are performers outside of my realm of music that could do it, as illustrated by the several groups/DJs that have performed there.

I've never heard of Anyma, Illenium, the Unity Festival or Carin Leon, and they apparently had successful runs.

I'm sure there is some K-Pop group that could sell out a run.

Disregarding ticket sales but whom I think would be a fantastic fit there...

Tame Impala

The Cure

Their video backdrop that I've seen for 100 Years on tour was incredible. I can only imagine the damage they could do at the Sphere. Perform the entire Pornography album. Better yet, have Robert Smith, Siouxsie and Steve Severin reunite, with a square of acid provided for every ticket holder.

BTS could. Maybe BLACKPINK. The girls from K-Pop Demon Hunters might sell well.
